Rory: *he's set out all of the lawn chairs in the tent for the evening act, huffing and nodding to himself as he crosses his arms and looks over them-- there's about an hour until the show, and he always finds himself fussing with things at this point in time* *finally bored of pacing around in small circles, he heads out to the front of the tent after having made sure his smoke flower is in place, brushing his outfit off and moving over to the concession counter to stretch his arms across it, resting his head on the counter and grumble*
Kellin- *like always, he's obsessively rubbing a wet cloth back and forth over the concession stand's counter, wanting it to be perfect, though it's more or less unknown where he got his obsession with food cleanliness -- probably Helmy, if anything, because his parents sure don't care* *his eyebrows perk somewhat when he spots Rory coming out of the tent, shifting back somewhat and looking at him as he approaches* What's wrong with you? *he tilts his head somewhat, but then has to reach up and make sure his huge top hat doesn't fall off his head*
Mel: *He wasn't entirely sure why he was dropped off here, but they had said about something fun with others his age and he was more then willing to join at the chance of fun. He happily wondered around the tents, his eyes wide with glee and curiosity as he walked with a skip in his step, twirling happily.* Helloooo *He called out as he made his way around the big tent, spotting a few concession stands. He came to a halt for a moment as he spotted two others and quickly made his way towards them too.* Heyheyheeeey!
Marketa: *As ever, she was dressed in a performance costume and freely wandering around the tent. She probably was supposed to be backstage rather than amongst the seats, but really she'd already limbered up plenty!* *Looking over at the sound of Mel greeting the two busy people, Marketa decided to join them as well. Trotting a meandering path through the aisles, she waved* Is there anything I can help with?
Rory: *just letting out an exaggerated groan when Kellin asks him what's wrong, he squirms and flails his arms around on the counter a bit* *it's only the sound of another voice that makes him perk up a bit, head lifting from the counter slightly as he looks over at Mel* Huh? *his eyes tracing over to Marketa, he looks a bit more excited as he shoots up and brushes off his outfit, settling his hat more securely on his head as he looks the two of them over* Well! Do you have a flier? Either of you?
Kellin- I hope you know I don't speak WORM. Only you and Helmy speak worm, because you're a worm and he's named after one. *smirking a little to himself, he feels extra special to know that joke because Drake has mentioned a few times what exactly 'Helmintio' means* *he jolts when the red-head kid rushes over, backing toward his popcorn machine but wary to not cause it to fall over again* ...jeez! What's with all the hyper people? Gosh, you'd think they broke into my stash of soda or something. *blinks when Marketa approaches, pleased that she has a much less attention-demanding demeanor* Are you here to join? The, uh... both of you, did you get a flyer or something?
Mel *He tilts his head to the side, confused by the question, but a quick glance around- mostly just spotting the help wanted flier- and he grinned.* No I don't have one, nope *He said, bouncing on his feet and glancing at the girl that had come up to the other two too. He grinned and then his eyes were back on the two boys.* Nope, but I can help? I think, I was dropped off here, to have fun... maybe help. Yeah!
Marketa: *Had fortunately picked up a flier from one of the seats andm not-so-surreptitiously reading it as she stood there, nodded* Oh yes I really would like that. *she tucked an errant curl away from her face and looked between the two boys* You're the boys on the flier aren't you? The pictures don't quite do you justice. *Her sense of humour wasn't easy to grasp sometimes.*
Rory: *blushing, he roars when Kellin says he's speaking worm, crossing his arms* Well, I don't speak STUPID, so you're gonna have to start speaking better! *turning his back on Kellin, he focuses most of his attention on Mel, the louder of the two, always seeming entertained by the chance to out-yell someone* Well... you can only help if you can actually do something, you know. What can you do? *he gasps when Marketa says the flier doesn't do them justice, flushing in embarrassment as he snatches it away from her and looks at the drawing he worked so hard on* Well... that's only 'cause Kellin's too ugly to capture on paper, and I'm too awesome!
Kellin- *making a face as Mel explains that he was pretty much just dropped off here -- that's not quite the same sort of story he'd expect, he would have thought that either the parents let the kids come, or they simply ran away, but being dropped off here? Someone gets a parent of the year award, for sure* ...I can see why that'd be. And Rory's right, you can't help if you're BORING and can't do anything. This is a business meant to make money! So you have to do something that people would pay money to see! Can y--*he missed that Marketa had said the flyer didn't do them justice, as he was too distracted by Mel, but he screeches when Rory calls him ugly* NO! It's just because Rory's drawing SUCKS! I'm a LOT better!
Mel: *He giggled at how they insulted each other and his eyes widen with shock at the sudden roar from the green dressed one. He laughed more at that, but he moved closer to get a better look at the flier, scrunching up his face in confusion.* Why are you holding a cake... uh I can do things *He said, snapping his head up at the sudden questioning. He looked thoughtful as he looked around and tried to figure out what exactly he can do.* I can play with shadows? If you want, I can do that or I can zap too *He extends his hand to see if one of them wanted to tough. Smiling happily.*
Marketa: *Blinked bemusedly when the flier was snatched away from her* I thought you both looked nicer in person than any piece of paper could be obviously. *she chuckled in a slightly wheezy manner, canting her head to one side* You are? Would you draw me a picture then? So I can see who is better? *her smile smacked of innocence but her intentions were not. Get a free drawing? Hell yes.*
Rory: *he grins with pride when he notices Mel's surprise at his roar, huffing as he crosses his arms and leans against the counter* *when Mel starts commenting on the flier he growls as he snatches it back, stomping his foot* It's a POPCORN tray, stupid! Not a cake! *sticking his tongue out, he shakes his head when Marketa asks if Kellin really is better* No! He's not! He sucks at art! *pushing at Kellin's face, he looks back over to Mel* Shadows? I can do that too! are you any good at them? *he doesn't reach out for Mel's hand, but intrigued by the thought of a competetor, he uses a shadow tendril to poke the boy in his side* Are you?
Kellin- *he bursts out laughing when Mel points out that Rory's drawing makes it look like he's holding a cake, and he has to wrap his arms around himself to stay standing up* IT DOES! It looks like it's my BIRTHDAY and Rory has a birthday hat on! Rory, your art is SO BAD. It even looks like there are candles on the cake and everything! Man, I wish I WAS holding a cake instead of a popcorn machine. Cake is better, but every time we get cake, Rory eats it all because he's FAT. *giggling to himself as he pushes Rory* He's about as good at art as he is tall. His dad Destry is tall and very good at art, and Rory is short and sucks. Makes sense, huh?
Mel: *He shrugs at the sudden burst of defense, not really caring if it was popcorn or tray, his attention more so on wanting to see if he could draw too. But when he's poked in the side with a shadow tendril he giggles and swats at it, use to being tickled attack by them.* I like cake, you guys should have cake. *He says happily as he reaches for the shadow tendril. As much as he wants to make one too, his always come out weird and out of control. Instead he hums to himself as he concentrates on the shadows around and morphs them into an exact illusion of Kellin, holding a cake. He grinned, pleased with himself.* I can do illusions, it's easy, the other shadow things not so much. *He waved his hand through the illusion, letting it fade away.* And.. I guess it makes sense? *He was slightly confused as he raked his mind for the familiarness of the name Destry. Huh.*
Rory: *he shrieks when Kellin starts laughing, blush heavy on his face as he stomps his feet and swats at the other Moritz* Stop laughing, Kelly! It does NOT look like a cake, it looks like popcorn and you're both so STUPID! You're the fat one, Kellin! You eat EVERYTHING! *he himself really doesn't tend to eat too much, and he's quite proud at having lost a fair bit of his baby fat, even if it does just make him look scrawnier* We don't have cake because Kellin can't cook and he's fat! *he blinks at the shadow illusions around them, then puffs up his cheeks, unwilling to admit that he finds them rather good* ... that's OKAY, I guess. Maybe if you hand out a stack of fliers we'll THINK about letting you join! *he swats at Kellin when the other blames his lack of artistic ability on his height* Well, you're gonna stay as short as grandpa and I'm gonna get taller than Destry and I'll LAUGH at you!
Kellin- I'd be happy to have cake! But I need someone to tie Rory to a tree outside so he doesn't just eat it all because HE'S the FAT ONE. *sticks his tongue out at Rory* He just doesn't want to admit that he's a fatty, fatty, ratty. See. If you combine Rory and Fatty, you get Ratty, so he's a RAT also! A RAT and a WORM! *he seems quite pleased with himself for determining this, eyes widening somewhat when Mel creates the illusion of him* Y-you--wh... *stumbles forward and tries to touch the shadow illusion* ... yeah, like he said, it's OKAY. But how would you use that in an act? *he turns to Rory when he tells him he'll stay as short as Everett* NO! I'm already taller than you, you're a SHRIMP! You're tiny and wimpy just like YOUR grandfather! *points at him and laughs* I'm already laughing at you! Short and FAT.
Mel *He was beyond confused at their insults and who they were referring too, but figured he didn't really care, but he made a mental note to figure out who's who later on... or maybe ask his father.* I dunno, I can make uh places too, but I don't wanna right now *He looked around, obviously bored with their fighting despite finding it kinda funny. Instead he wanted to try his hand at making a flier, handing them out sounded boring actually.* Let me try drawing one too, that sounds like fun.
Trenton *He had bought his new outfit and hat with a color pattern of yellow and blue. A scarf was hanging on his shoulders and in the tip where giant bells that sounded lightly everything he walked. With his levitating ability, he helped the tips of the scarf fly upwards, making sure that they don't get dirty by touching the floor. He walked towards the circus excited to show his new bosses the way he would look while performing, hoping it matches with the dress cloths.* I think I'll never take this off. *he whispers to himself as he enjoys the chingly sounds of the bells. He enters the carnival and looks for Kellin and Rory until finally finding them by the concession stand with an extra stranger.* HEY GUYS! *he runs in happiness towards them* Look at my new outfit! *turning around to show them better. Then he looks at Mel.* You're gonna join here too? *grinning his sharp teeth at him.*
Rory: Am not! They'll see when you inhale all of your food! Destry was probably small when he was little too! I'll grow! *he puffs up his cheeks, shaking his head when Mel says he's going to create a flier* No! No, mine is PERFECT and we're keeping it! We don't need any of your STUPID fliers! *the sound of Trenton's bells catches his attention and stops him from ranting, though he's still clinging to the fliers and holding them securely to his chest as he looks over* O-Oh. That's pretty cool. Did you make it? Can you sew? I can sew! *not very well, but he's proud of what little he can do* *looking over to Mel, he grins again* You're gonna need an outfit to perform in or you can't stay with us!
Kellin- Saying that you can do something but don't want to is not going to convince ANYONE. You have to actually do it, or I'll call you a LIAR because you are a liar and you don't actually know how to create places! *he shakes a finger at Mel, tsk tsking despite that he's actually growing somewhat fond of the unusual fellow* Let's do an art contest. Whoever makes the BEST flyer is the flyer we'll actually use -- because Rory's artwork is so BAD. *he blinks and turns around when someone calls out, staring at Trenton and looking him up and down* Uh… that's… that's…. *he doesn't actually find it visually appealing, he actually feels like his eyes are melting out of their sockets* It's okay. I mean, I could do better. *gestures to his orange and brown outfit -- though he didn't make it. Everett did* And Rory didn't make his! He asked HELMY to make it, because Rory can't sew!
Mel: But I really don't wanna *He said with a huff, crossing his arms as he glanced behind him too at the sudden call. He brighten up immediately at the new face and waved.* Hey! I'm new too I think and your outfit is really cool... *He grins back, only a few of his own teeth rather sharp before he looked at Rory with a shrug.* Dad can make one then... I think... Everett? *That was a name he knew, along with the other, but his attention was off again at the realization that they were having a drawing contest and he bounced on his feet with excitement.* Yeah yeah, contest to art!
Trenton *he looked at Mel in amazement.* It's totally cool! *he didn't undertand the conversation about their parents, but he just smiled while they spoke.* Yes I made these all by myself! *He didn't make the cloths at all. He just found some bells and cloths that looked appealing to him and put it on. He stole the scarf from his neighbor's backyard. They had a giant dog using the scarf as a collar, so when the dog was asleep he hurried towards it and silently took it. He looked at the other's cloths and decided that his were much circus-like than theirs. Proud of it, he started to move the bells around.* I think I can walk with these... *he whispered to himself, placing the bells on the floor without dirtying the scarf and lifted himself up, giggling at what he can do.* My art is too amazing to include on a flyer, people would get too jealous about it. *He lifts his chest up and places his hands on his hips, pride rising by an amazing picture he thought he could create.*
Rory: Kelly's right. If you don't show us, we're not gonna believe you! *he hasn't quite decided how he feels about Mel, but he's still feeling rather defensive over his flier, and from that he's regarding them all rather miserably* No! We're going to use MY flier because it's the best! I'm not BAD at art, Kellin! You're bad! You're horrible! I'll draw another awesome flier and you'll see! *he stares suspiciously when Trenton says he made his outfit himself, cheeks puffed out as he stares at him* You're probably LYING! *he tends to say that when he finds people better at something than he is* *shrieking when Mel and Trenton comment on the art suggestion, he shakes his head fervently* No! No, no, no, no! We're not having ANY art competitions because MY ART IS THE BEST!
Kellin- Then I'm going to call you a liar! All redheads are liars, I bet. You're so DUMB and STUPID and I've NEVER met a redhead who wasn't an idiot. Just GET OUT, you're a liar and you can't even make PLACES! *huffs somewhat, then nods* Yes, Everett, he's my dad. And no wonder your parents dropped you off here, you're really ANNOYING, aren't you? I bet you can't draw either. You're probably as bad as Rory. *he peers at the clothing that Trenton is displaying, as well as stating he made them himself... he severely doubts that, most people his age seem to have some motor skill issues... but he nods this time, smiling* See? We have REAL talent, not just fake talent like Rory. *cackles and points and laughs at Rory* Your art is going to get beat by EVERYONE'S, but especially mine! We'll VOTE on it. And if everyone else says your art sucks, you HAVE to accept it.
Mel: *He blinked in surprise at the sudden lashing of the other and he looked confused, if only for a moment, but he frowned and tilted his head.* Calling me a liar doesn't make me a liar, who told you that you were right huh! *Yeah, yeah he was good and he smiled at him.* Dad dropped me off here cause I said I wanted to have fun, not much fun though as all you're doing is screaming at me. *He said, looking around and his gaze locked with the big tent and his curiosity got the better of him as he turned to start heading towards it. He figured he could draw later on once they stopped throwing insult at each other.*
Trenton *he feels offended when Rory calls him a liar.* I'm not a LIAR! You are! *he pouts as he starts to get nervous. He turn towards Mel, curious in what he can do. Actually, he was curious in what everyone would do since he only knew about Finley's talent. Questioning the bosses would probably make him end up being fired from here but atleast he wated to see what Mel's talent was.* What are you gonna do for the circus? *Mel didn't seem special at all in his eyes. Seeing Kellin and Rory fight was actually amusing for him, so he'd end up giggling in random times as they spoke.*
Rory: I am not a liar! My dad is! I'm not at all unless it's to Kelly and that's just because he's guillobale! *he sticks his tongue out at Kellin when the other boy sides with Trenton on their art issues, stomping around a bit more to make his displeasure apparent* *he looks over to the party tent at all when Mel starts walking toward it, puffing his cheeks up and following* We do have fun! Lots of fun here, you just can't have any unless you prove that you're really cool, like us! 'Cause we're pretty much awesome. What are you doing? Why would your dad drop you off here? Doesn't he want you at home?
Kellin- *he's embarrassed that he was so quick to lash out at Mel when he'd started to decide that he might actually like he company of the redhead, but he crosses his arms and puffs out his cheeks to glare at him* Maybe if you'd stop being DUMB I wouldn't have to yell at you! It's all YOUR fault, you just don't want to take 'SPONSIBILITY. That's probably why your parents don't like you and dropped you off here, not because it's fun! What parent would drop their kid off at some random place?! *at least he and Rory have the excuse of being extremely stubborn and making the place themselves* *he grabs a handful of popcorn from his popcorn machine and throws it at Rory* And THAT'S for calling me guillobale! *he's not very good at pronouncing things right if he hears Rory say it wrong, not unless he's very certain of another pronunciation* *opens the cabinets of the concession counter to get a piece of paper and start doodling on it*
Mel: I can make adventures *He stated simply with a smile, spreading his arms out as he turned. He hummed as he continued to walk backwards, letting small illusions appear almost out of thin air. They were random animals of different colors and they raced through the air before disappearing.**He stopped out of the tent, poking his head in and looking around. But if anything it was rather boring inside and he frowned as he spun around and made his way back to the others.* Dad said whenever I was bored here to send him a message through the shadows and he would pick me up... and that uh he knows your parents... I dunno *He shrugs not really thinking it was that important, his attention more so on the paper and the want to draw too.*
Trenton *He follows Kellin as he sees that he started doodling. He looked back at Rory and wondered if he'd start to cry if his flyer was voted out, so he walks towards him and pats his head like his father would do to him when he's being praised.* I think your flyer is very cool! *he gives him a thumbs up and smiles stupidly. One of the things he hates the most is having people cry, since he doesn't really know how to deal with it. He prefers to try to avoid that sort of problem. Looking back at Mel he sees all the illusions of animals on the air, seeming like they were flying.* WOW THAt'S COOL! *he tries to touch a cat but sees as his hand just slipped through it.* *0*
Rory: *his eyes widen a bit at the sight of the shadow beings-- he's not too good at making figures, and whatever he makes with shadows is usually leveled at his art abilities, so he sticks to just shifting himself* Well... that's... okay, all right? You did sort of okay. Your face is less stupid than everyone else's, and maybe you can join, but you're gonna need to live here when we move! Are you a baby? Can you handle living away from home? *he's personally a bit nervous about leaving home when they do finally move the circus on, and he's been crawling into his parents' bed more than usual, but they don't need to know that* *looking over to Trenton, he nods again* Can YOU handle it? *gasping when he has popcorn thrown at his face, he flails his arms at Kellin* Because you ARE guillobale! *he's somewhat protective of their party tent, and his cheeks puff out when the others enter it, watching them intently for their reaction to it*
Kellin- You can--*but his complaints are promptly shut up when he sees the illusions that Mel creates, his eyes widening considerably to the point where it honestly looks like they're taking up half of his face* You--THAT'S AMAZING! *he shrinks back somewhat, feeling bad about himself for not being able to do anything useful... it figures... this 'help wanted' stuff is only going to make him feel worse as he's surrounded by people with their own special talent* *at least he's distracted for the moment when Mel says that his parents know Kellin's, and he frowns* Really? Is they from that weird academy? *BAD GRAMMAR ALERT* *noticing that Trenton is eying his paper, he pushes one toward the other as well as a few markers, though he keeps the orange one for himself* You'll have to pay a FEE if you want to use this marker. *he's sure to stick his tongue out at Rory for calling him gullible too* Look, I'm drawing SO MUCH better than Rory. Who do you guys think draws better, anyway? Let's vote RIGHT NOW.
Mel: *He couldn't help the wide grin on his face as he happily bounces from all the praise and he nods his head with excitement.* Course I'll leave with you guys, that sounds like fun and like adventure and explore places everywhere and and *He stopped to breath, having said it in all one breath. He continue to nod towards Kellin.* The dark uh eeeerie place with spooky stuff *He answered as he approached the counter and leaned against it, looking at the others draw. He reached for one of the markers.* Let me do one too!
Trenton I can handle living here... my parents would be very happy about it~ *he smiles proudly and continues to stare at Kellin's paper when he receives a paper and markers for himself to use. He happily accepts them and starts to draw as well, looking at both Kellin and Rory as his reference. The drawing wasn't coming out any better than what Rory had made, but in his eyes it was becoming a masterpiece. He then looks towards Kellin's drawing and compares it with Rory's, seeing what he would vote on.* ... i think Kellin's better... *he looks back at his drawing and feels it needs glitter and crayons.* I'll finish it and bring it to you later~ *he stands up and runs towards his house to fix the drawing.*
Rory: *he's considered Kellin's abilities before and his tendencies to get upset around others with abilities, but he's also decided that Kellin must be somewhat all right with it if he's willing to be in the circus* *not noticing Kellin's bad grammar, he just stares at the other boy, waiting for an explanation* All of the places my grandparents lived were eerie and spooky, stupid! That doesn't help! Why haven't you visited before if your dad knows ours? *he puffs up his cheeks when Kellin says they'll judge their art, but in naturally assuming his is better he just waits for his art to be approved of, and he looks extremely offended when Trenton says Kellin's is better* No! No, his isn't! His don't even have proper--- *he stumbles over the correct word before just gesturing to the entire thing* Anything! It's horrible! *he sticks out his tongue when Trenton leaves and crosses his arms, huffing at Mel and rather hoping the other's art is worse than his own*
Kellin- *his eye twitches a bit at the thought of having all these strangers moving from place to place with them... at the very least, as uncomfortable as he's felt when dealing with strangers during the shows, at least he knows they go away eventually... maybe this 'help wanted' thing wasn't such a good idea, but he knows Rory will mock him for chickening out if he does, so he tries not to show it* Isn't my art so much better than Rory's? We should go photocopy this flyer -- maybe people will actually WANT to come and check out the circus if they can actually READ where it is! *points to Rory's flyer* I can't read his handwriting EVER. He writes in WORM and I don't speak that language. *he's silent for a few moments as he continues drawing and peeking over Trenton's shoulder* *when he hears that Trent thinks his drawing is better, however, he squeals loudly and laughs* SEE? I TOLD YOU, RORY. YOU SUCK. I'M BETTER. My drawings have more LIFE in them and they're less like STICK FIGURES.
Mel: *He doesn't realize that Trenton has left when he looks up and notice him gone, surprised, he looks around and spotted his disappearing figure. He waved even though it was pointless and smiled at the other two before continue with his doodle.* I live lots with my grandma and grandpa, lots of times with my uncles or aunts... but I got bored and wanted to new faces *He scrunches up his face as he finished the doodle and looks over to Kellin* Whoa, they do look like you, that's really cool. He looked down at his and with with a few more letters he finished. Proud.* There!
Rory: *he definitely would tease Kellin if he tried to chicken out of their recruiting plenty of people-- after all the main reason Destry has allowed them to go is that Rory has promised there'd be plenty of other kids involved, so going off and adventuring on their own would definitely make his father mad* No! We're not photocopying that because it's BAD! *he screeches when Kellin says his handwriting is bad, flushing heavily-- he worked on it a lot, but it doesn't seem to be much better* We live with lots of people too. You still shoulda come seen us! I don't believe your dad knows ours! You're a liar until you prove it! *he blushes at the praise of Kellin's art, then points to Mel's and laughs rather loudly* We're not even wearing PANTS! Where are our legs? You're BAD at art!
Kellin- *he leans with his head in his hands as he watches Mel draw, giggling as he imagines his and Rory's heads coming out of a plant, because that's what it looks like to him* I think he's a better drawer than you are, Rory. Your ability to draw and write SUCKS. You're nothing like your dad. *flicks a pencil at Rory and beams when he's praised, his cheeks flushing deeply with black* Kehe--well, I... you know... thank you. I'm still learning, but I try... *covers his face somewhat with his hands and turns away from the two, embarrassed just about as much as Rory is* I'm better than Rory though, you're right! I am! Even Destry thinks so!
Mel: It has feet... those are the feet! *He points at the sticks and laughs.* I dun draw much, I like creating illusions more. *He leans against the counter and bounces on his feet as he stared at the two.* I dunno, maybe I can ask him, I think I have a picture of all of us or something *He shrugs and once again watches them make fun of one another.* I like them both, you should have diversaty *He grinned at his big word and nodded in agreement with himself.*
I beat you in words ha ah ha Rory I HAVE MORE MONEy THAN YOUThat's just 'cause you talk lots about STUPID and useless things and you didn't even need half those words! You should stop talking and be like Dad!
